BT MAS spindle tooling refers to a standardised tool holding system that is designed to provide a precise and repeatable way to hold and position cutting tools for machining operations. The BT MAS system is compliant with the international standard BT MAS, which provides a common interface between the cutting tool and the machine tool, ensuring compatibility and interchangeability between different brands and models.

BT MAS spindle tooling comes in different sizes, including BT30, BT40, and BT50. These sizes refer to the diameter of the taper interface at the tool holder end, and the size of the tool shank that the tool holder is designed to hold.

The BT30 tool holders are designed to hold cutting tools with a shank diameter of 0.375 inches or 9.5mm. They are typically used for light-duty machining operations and are known for their precision and repeatability.

The BT40 tool holders are designed to hold cutting tools with a shank diameter of 0.500 inches or 12.7mm. They are typically used for medium-duty machining operations and are known for their precision and repeatability.

The BT50 tool holders are designed to hold cutting tools with a shank diameter of 0.625 inches or 15.9mm. They are typically used for heavy-duty machining operations and are known for their precision and repeatability.
