AXIS micro drills come in two core families — uncoated for standard micro drilling, and AXIS+ coated for extended tool life in demanding materials. Both available in three flute lengths.
Solid carbide micro drills with sub-micron carbide substrates. Ideal for steel, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous and aluminium. Available from Ø0.015mm up to Ø3.00mm.
- T301 Short flute — 3–5xD drilling depth
- T302 Medium flute — 5–8xD drilling depth
- T303 Long flute — 8–12xD drilling depth
NexGen drills with AXIS+ MMP super-finishing — in-house PVD coating and controlled edge preparation for significantly better tool life, surface finish and consistency.
- T311 Short flute — 3–5xD drilling depth
- T312 Medium flute — 5–8xD drilling depth
- T313 Long flute — 8–12xD drilling depth
Choose Your Flute Length
Every AXIS drill series is available in three flute lengths — match the depth to your application for maximum rigidity and performance.
Who are Axis Micro Tools?
AXIS is a brand of IND-SPHINX Precision Limited — a world-leading manufacturer of high precision solid carbide micro drills and cutting tools. With over 35 years of engineering expertise, AXIS tools are trusted by engineers in aerospace, medical, dental, horology, jewellery, graphite machining and semiconductor manufacturing worldwide.
AXIS holds Ø ±0.001mm diameter tolerances as standard across their entire drill range — every drill is manufactured on Swiss, German and Japanese grinding machines built for extreme consistency.
The INDrill and INDrill+ NexGen series stocked at Protool cover Ø0.30–3.00mm in three flute lengths, giving you the right tool for every depth and material combination. AXIS+ coated drills use in-house PVD coating with MMP super-finishing for controlled edge preparation that meaningfully extends tool life.
Why Choose Axis?
Three reasons precision engineers across the UK trust Axis micro drills — and trust Protool to stock them.
Extreme Precision
AXIS INDrill and INDrill+ drills hold Ø ±0.001mm diameter tolerances, manufactured on Swiss, German and Japanese CNC grinding machines. Every drill delivers consistent geometry and run-out for repeatable results.
In-House AXIS+ Coating
The INDrill+ NexGen series uses AXIS's own in-house PVD coating with MMP super-finishing — a mirror-like surface treatment that reduces friction, controls the cutting edge and significantly extends tool life versus standard uncoated drills.

Axis Micro Drills — INDrill & INDrill+ Solid Carbide Micro Drilling Tools from an Authorised UK Stockist
AXIS is a brand of IND-SPHINX Precision Limited and a world-leading manufacturer of high precision solid carbide micro drills. Protool is an authorised UK stockist for the AXIS INDrill and INDrill+ NexGen drill series — six drill series covering uncoated and AXIS+ coated micro drills in short, medium and long flute lengths, all stocked for next-day delivery across mainland UK.
The AXIS INDrill series covers uncoated solid carbide micro drills in three flute lengths: T301 (short flute, 3–5xD depth), T302 (medium flute, 5–8xD depth) and T303 (long flute, 8–12xD depth). Available from Ø0.30mm up to Ø3.00mm, all held to Ø ±0.001mm diameter tolerance. The INDrill series is suitable for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous materials and aluminium — providing an outstanding combination of tool life and precision at a highly competitive price point.
The AXIS INDrill+ NexGen series (T311, T312, T313) adds the AXIS+ MMP super-finishing treatment — an in-house proprietary process combining PVD coating with a micro machining surface treatment that delivers mirror-like flute surfaces and controlled cutting edge preparation. The result is significantly reduced friction, better chip evacuation, improved surface finish in the workpiece and meaningfully extended tool life compared to standard uncoated micro drills. The INDrill+ series is particularly effective in stainless steel, hardened materials, super alloys and applications where consistent tool life is critical.
All six AXIS drill series are manufactured using Swiss, German and Japanese CNC precision grinding machines, with in-house quality control to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards. AXIS tools are used by engineers in aerospace, medical implant manufacturing, digital dentistry, horology, jewellery, semiconductor and miniature parts machining worldwide. Protool stocks AXIS micro drills in the UK for fast next-day DPD delivery. Call our applications team on 01732 887334 for advice on the right series, flute length and diameter for your application.
