Gauges verify that a machined or manufactured feature is within tolerance. Protool stocks plug gauges, ring gauges, thread gauges, hole gauges and radius gauges for inspection on the shop floor or in a calibration lab.
Hole gauges (also called bore gauges) measure internal hole diameter directly — plug-style for go/no-go checking against a tolerance band, or expanding bore gauges for exact diameter readout. These are the fastest way to check drilled or reamed hole size without a CMM.
Thread gauges measure pitch, angle and diameter on screw threads. Go/No-Go thread plug gauges check internal threads; thread ring gauges check external threads. Available in ISO metric coarse and fine, UNF, UNC, BSP and NPT forms.
Helicoil thread gauges check the finished size of a helical coil insert once it has been fitted into a repaired or tapped hole — essential for confirming a heli-coil repair meets the original thread specification before the part goes back into service.
Radius gauges measure the radius of curved surfaces, both concave and convex, on milled corners, fillets and formed edges.
UKAS-accredited calibration certificates are available for gauges requiring certified traceability. UK stock, same-day dispatch before 4pm.
