Carmex Carbide Threading Insert - NPTF - TiAlN Coated - 40-8NPTF is a durable, versatile threading solution designed for machinists who need reliable performance across a range of common thread profiles. Built for both internal and external threading tasks, this insert combines precision, toughness, and convenient edge life for everyday metalworking.
- Range of lengths: five available lengths from 12 mm to 40 mm to suit different hole sizes and workpiece configurations.
- Thread profiles supported: designed to cover all common thread profiles with pitches from 0.5 mm (32 TPI) up to 6.0 mm (4 TPI).
- Double‑sided cutting edges: two cutting edges per insert (except for BSPT/NPT/NPTF/American Buttress/API RD) for extended edge life and reduced tool changes.
- Internal & external capability: in many profiles, the same insert can machine both internal and external threads, streamlining tooling and reducing inventory (with typical exceptions noted for ISO/UN/NPSM/UNJ/Acme).
- TiAlN coating: TiAlN coating enhances wear resistance and heat tolerance, helping maintain sharpness on tougher materials and extend insert life.
- Carbide construction: hard carbide substrate provides stiffness and precision for clean, accurate thread profiles across a range of materials.
