Description
Solid carbide thread mill for Rc1/16–1/8 BSPT threads at 28 TPI, internal or external. This is the plain Carmex Mill-Thread, with no internal coolant. It cuts the full thread in one pass, does right-hand and left-hand threads with the same tool, and can thread right up to a shoulder in a blind hole. Cutting pressure is low, so thin-walled parts are fine.
Carmex lists it as the same tool for internal and external threads, so one cutter does both. MT7 is Carmex’s general-purpose grade: sub-micron carbide with a TiAlN multi-layer coating, meant to run at medium to high cutting speeds across all materials. Taper threads need a tapered hole, and Carmex makes solid carbide tapered end mills to prepare it.
