The OSG UNC Spiral Point Threading Tap is a high-performance tool designed for through-hole threading, delivering precise, reliable threads with extended tool life. Crafted from HSS-E cobalt and finished with a Steam Oxide coating, it stands up to demanding metalworking conditions.
- Material & finish: High-speed steel with cobalt (HSS-E) and a durable Steam Oxide coating for improved wear resistance and heat tolerance.
- Design & chip evacuation: Spiral point geometry engineered to push chips forward and out of the hole, reducing clogging and improving thread consistency.
- Thread specification: UNC threading, 3/8" major diameter with 16 threads per inch, ideal for through-hole applications.
- Application: Optimized for through-hole tapping in metalwork, delivering full-thread performance from entry to exit.
- Precision & durability: Tight tolerances and robust construction for repeatable, high-quality threads and longer tool life in production environments.
This tap enables efficient, accurate threading in through-hole work, with fewer reworks and consistent results across production runs. The combination of HSS-E cobalt, Steam Oxide coating, and spiral point geometry supports higher-speed tapping while maintaining thread integrity and finish.

Yes! We offer Free Next Day delivery via Royal Mail Tracked 24 on all orders over £50 ex VAT*. We also offer Free DPD Local Next Day delivery on all orders over £100 ex VAT*.
We also offer the following:
- Royal Mail Tracked 24 — £5.90 (FREE on orders over £50 ex VAT*). Order before 4:30pm for next day delivery. No signature required.
- DPD Local Next Day — £8.00 (FREE on orders over £100 ex VAT*). Standard next day delivery to UK mainland addresses.
- Royal Mail Special Delivery — £12.50. Guaranteed delivery before 1pm the next working day.
- DPD Saturday Delivery — £25.00. Must be ordered on Friday before 4pm. Pre-12pm delivery.
