Description
The Carmex Small Indexable Carbide Insert is a dedicated external face grooving solution designed for reliable, repeatable performance in precision machining. Built for external grooving tasks, it combines rigid carbide construction with a durable coating to tackle tough materials.

- Minimum bore: Ø12.0 mm (0.47 in) minimum bore compatibility for standard tool holders.
- Width: 1.5 mm to suit compact grooving passes and tight work areas.
- Groove depth: 2.5 mm for efficient material removal and consistent chip formation.
- Material: Carbide insert delivering rigidity and wear resistance in demanding jobs.
- Coating: BLU PVD triple-layer coating, sub-micron grade for improved wear resistance and high-temperature stability.
- Material compatibility: Effective across stainless steels, cast iron, titanium, non-ferrous metals, and most high-temperature alloys (M10–M20, K05–K20, N10–N20, S10–S20).
This insert provides precise, repeatable external grooving with enhanced tool life and predictable finishes. The 12 mm minimum bore broadens holder compatibility, while the 1.5 mm width and 2.5 mm groove depth support efficient material removal across a range of metals.
