Description

The OSG Carbide Drill 5XD is a 13 mm diameter carbide drill designed for deep-hole drilling where precision and reliability matter. It features a 5XD length-to-diameter ratio, delivering depth capability with maintained rigidity to produce accurate holes in demanding materials. This makes it a solid choice for engineers, machinists, and professionals across manufacturing and fabrication environments.

Coated with WD1, the drill offers enhanced wear resistance to help maintain a sharp cutting edge and extend tool life even in tougher materials. The whistle notch shank provides secure, stable tool holding for reduced chatter and consistent hole starts. With through-coolant capability and an integrated oil hole, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and temperature control, supporting clean finishes and reliable performance during longer cycles.

WD1-coated carbide for extended life: The WD1 coating enhances wear resistance to keep the cutting edge sharp longer, reducing tool changes and sustaining consistent hole quality in challenging materials.
Whistle notch shank for secure, stable grip: The whistle notch design locks firmly in the holder, minimizing runout and delivering reliable hole starts and steadier drilling under heavier loads.
Oil hole and through-coolant design for efficient cooling and chip removal: Through-coolant with an integrated oil hole channels coolant directly to the cutting edge, improving heat management, chip evacuation, and surface finish on deep or long holes.

Together, these features help you achieve consistent, high-quality holes with longer tool life and fewer interruptions. The 5XD geometry enables deeper drilling without sacrificing rigidity, while the WD1 coating and advanced cooling ensure dependable performance in demanding industrial settings.
