Description
The Carmex Carbide Tiny Tool for Face Grooving is a solid carbide bar designed to create straight, flat-bottom grooves with repeatable accuracy. With an 8 mm minimum diameter and a 3 mm groove width, it’s a reliable choice for precise face grooving across many materials. Part of the Tiny Tools family, this bar is engineered to deliver clean grooves with minimal finishing steps and predictable performance.
Two coating grades provide options for different materials and speeds. The BXC TiN-coated option targets stainless steels at low cutting speeds for longer tool life and controlled chip formation, while the BMK sub-micron grade uses a triple PVD coating for high heat resistance and smooth cutting, making it versatile for general-purpose use across materials.
- Straight-groove geometry for flat-bottom grooves: Creates precise, straight grooves that minimize finishing steps and ensure consistent seating in assemblies.
- BXC TiN-coated grade for stainless steels at low speeds: Optimized for low cutting speeds on stainless steels (ISO P30-P50 / K25-K40), delivering wear resistance and longer tool life.
- BMK sub-micron grade with triple PVD coating for high heat resistance: Provides excellent heat tolerance and very smooth cutting, making it a versatile, general-purpose option for a wide range of materials.
With these design choices, you get reliable, repeatable grooves, longer tool life, and smoother cutting across a broad range of materials. The straight-groove geometry minimizes finishing passes, while the tailored coatings protect against wear and heat, helping you complete more work with fewer tool changes and consistent results you can trust.
