Newer versions use a rubber-seal-free nose for reduced maintenance, and the design features non-overlapping longitudinal slots at the center to prevent coolant loss during operation. To ensure a proper seal, use only round shank tooling with no clamping flats—tooling with flats can render the seal ineffective.
