The sealed design features an integral metal seal for high‑pressure cooling up to 120 bar, and non‑overlapping longitudinal slots that prevent coolant loss. To maintain a reliable seal, use only round shank tooling with no clamping flats; tooling with flats can render the seal ineffective. Newer designs use a metal nose seal for enhanced durability.
