Description
The Vortex 5C Metric Lathe Collet - Hex - 4mm is a soft emergency collet designed for quick adaptation in 5C lathe setups. Its borable material lets you tailor the bore to size, depth, taper, or shape to fit a specific component, delivering a precise, custom-fit grip.
During boring in a 5C lathe collet chuck, pins are fitted to keep the collet open, enabling safe and controlled shaping. When the job is complete, the collet can be re-bored many times to hold larger parts, allowing you to reuse the same piece and avoid discarding the pins.
- Ultra-precise runout (13–15 μm): Provides tight, repeatable accuracy for concentric turning and delicate machining tasks, helping to reduce setup errors and improve part quality.
- Bore-to-fit versatility: The collet can be bored to size, depth, taper, or shape to suit a specific component, cutting setup time and ensuring a secure, accurate grip.
- Re-boreable and reusable: Re-bore the same collet multiple times to accommodate larger parts, extending its useful life and minimizing waste by saving the pins for future jobs.
This collet is designed to integrate with standard 5C lathe chucks, making it a practical, reliable addition to any workshop. It helps you adapt quickly to non-standard components, maintain consistent grip, and keep workflows moving with fewer tool changes and less downtime.

- Royal Mail Special Delivery — £12.50. Guaranteed delivery before 1pm the next working day.
- DPD Saturday Delivery — £25.00. Must be ordered on Friday before 4pm. Pre-12pm delivery.
