Somta Long Series Drill - HSS-E Parabolic Flute - 9.7mm

The Somta Long Series Drill - HSS-E Parabolic Flute, 9.7 mm diameter, is engineered for deep-hole drilling where precision and durability matter. Constructed from HSS-E, it combines rugged wear resistance with excellent heat tolerance, making it a reliable choice for demanding metalworking tasks and thick materials.

Key advantages that set this drill apart:

• Long reach with solid rigidity: The extended flute length provides superior access to deep features while maintaining straightness and control, ideal for long through-holes and deep pockets without wobble.
• Parabolic flute for efficient chip evacuation: The unique flute geometry channels chips away from the cutting edge, reducing clogging, cutting forces, and the risk of re-cutting that can wear the tip.
• Clean, precise hole quality: Sharp cutting edges paired with optimized flute design deliver true holes with consistent diameter and reduced exit burrs, even in thicker workpieces.
• Durable, heat-resistant performance: HSS-E construction stands up to the heat generated in deep drilling, extending tool life under repetitive or heavy-duty use.
• Versatile for metalworking environments: Effective in steel, cast iron, and other dense materials, whether you’re creating through-holes or deep blind holes in fabrication, automotive, or machinery contexts.

Practical use and care tips:

• Operate at speeds and feeds appropriate for HSS-E tools to maximize hole quality and tool life; avoid excessive feed rates that can cause overheating or deflection.
• Support the workpiece and use a stable setup to minimize chatter and wandering, especially in long-depth drilling tasks.
• Apply a suitable cutting fluid or coolant to control heat when drilling tougher metals, and keep the drill sharp for consistent results.

Whether you’re outfitting a machine shop, maintenance bay, or fabrication line, the Somta Long Series Drill offers the combination of reach, reliability, and precision you need for accurate, durable deep-hole drilling in challenging materials.
