Vortex 5C Imperial Lathe Collet – Hex 5/16" is an emergency collet designed for 5C lathe chucks, engineered to accept custom boring operations with tight tolerances. It’s ideal for machinists who need quick, adaptable tooling for bespoke components.
- Size / Fit: Hex 5/16" — compatible with standard 5C lathe collet chucks for reliable clamping.
- Runout: 13–15 micron runout for precise boring and consistent workpiece features.
- Emergency Collet Design: Soft construction that can be bored to size, depth, taper, or shape to match a specific component.
- Open Position Pins: Pins keep the collet open during boring operations, simplifying setup in a 5C lathe.
- Re-borability: Re-bore many times to hold larger parts as your projects evolve; reuse the pins instead of discarding them.

- Royal Mail Tracked 24 — £5.90 (FREE on orders over £50 ex VAT*). Order before 4:30pm for next day delivery. No signature required.
- DPD Local Next Day — £8.00 (FREE on orders over £100 ex VAT*). Standard next day delivery to UK mainland addresses.
- Royal Mail Special Delivery — £12.50. Guaranteed delivery before 1pm the next working day.
- DPD Saturday Delivery — £25.00. Must be ordered on Friday before 4pm. Pre-12pm delivery.
