Description
The Vortex 5C Imperial Lathe Collet (Hex, 3/8") is a flexible, high-precision workholding solution for 5C lathes. Ideal for machinists and workshops that need custom sizes, it adapts on the fly through controlled boring to match a specific component.
- 13–15 micron runout: Maintains tight precision across turning and boring operations for accurate results.
- Soft, borable material: Emergency collet designed to be bored to size, depth, taper, or shape to fit a specific component.
- Pins to keep it open: Integrated pins hold the collet open during boring in a 5C lathe collet chuck for easy setup.
- Re-boreable for reuse: Can be re-bored multiple times to hold progressively larger parts, maximizing tool life and reducing waste.
- Hex, 3/8" compatibility: Optimized for hex-shaped components up to 3/8" and compatible with standard 5C lathe configurations.
This emergency collet delivers practical, real-world advantages: tailor the bore to exact part geometry, speed up setup with the opening-pin feature, and reuse the collet as projects evolve. The 13–15 micron runout supports smoother finishes and tighter tolerances, while re-boring minimizes downtime and material waste in prototypes and small-batch runs.

- DPD Local Next Day — £8.00 (FREE on orders over £100 ex VAT*). Standard next day delivery to UK mainland addresses.
- Royal Mail Special Delivery — £12.50. Guaranteed delivery before 1pm the next working day.
- DPD Saturday Delivery — £25.00. Must be ordered on Friday before 4pm. Pre-12pm delivery.
