The Carmex Carbide Threading Insert for ACME threads is a durable, high-precision solution built for machinists who tackle a range of common thread profiles with reliability. This TiAlN-coated carbide insert is designed to deliver steady performance across demanding threading tasks.
- Coating & Material: TiAlN-coated carbide for enhanced wear resistance and heat tolerance during precision threading.
- Length options: Five lengths available (12 mm to 40 mm) to suit different tooling setups and applications.
- Pitch range per length: Depending on length, capable of threading pitches from 0.5 mm (32 TPI) to 6.0 mm (4 TPI).
- Double-sided design: Two cutting edges on most inserts, maximizing usable life and reducing downtime between changes. Exceptions apply for BSPT, NPT, NPTF, American Buttress, and API RD profiles.
- Internal & external versatility: For many thread profiles, the same insert can machine both internal and external applications (excluding ISO, UN, NPSM, UNJ, and Acme).
This insert is ideal for shops performing ACME, UN, NPSM, ISO, and related threading tasks where durability and predictable results matter. Its dual-edge geometry and robust TiAlN finish help maintain consistent thread quality across a variety of materials, while the range of lengths and pitches provides flexibility to cover multiple projects with a single, reliable solution.
