Carmex Carbide Threading Insert – ACME – TiAlN Coated – 30I12ACME is a versatile, high-precision threading solution designed for machinists who routinely produce ACME and other common thread profiles. Built to endure demanding workholding and materials, it delivers reliable performance across workshops and small-batch production.
- Coating: TiAlN coating provides improved hardness and heat resistance for longer tool life in tough materials.
- Material: Solid carbide insert engineered for precise thread profiles and consistent finishes.
- Length options: Five lengths available, ranging from 12 mm to 40 mm to fit different tooling setups and depths.
- Edge configuration: Double-sided design with two cutting edges for most profiles, enabling more efficient tooling (exceptions apply to BSPT/NPT/NPTF/American Buttress/API RD).
- Internal vs external: For many thread profiles, the same insert can machine both internal and external threads; note exceptions for ISO/UN/NPSM/UNJ/Acme.
- Pitch range: Supports a wide range of pitches from 0.5 mm (32 TPI) to 6.0 mm (4 TPI), depending on the chosen length.
This insert is designed to reduce tool changes with a durable two-edge design, while the TiAlN coating helps maintain precision and surface finish under varied cutting conditions.
