The Carmex Carbide Threading Insert for ACME threads is a versatile, TiAlN-coated carbide solution designed for machinists who demand reliable, repeatable threading performance across multiple profiles. With five length options and broad pitch coverage, it streamlines tool selection and setup in production or job-shop environments.
- Five length options: Available in lengths from 12 mm to 40 mm to fit different thread forms and lead depths.
- Broad pitch range: Supports pitches from 0.5 mm (32 TPI) up to 6.0 mm (4 TPI).
- Double-sided cutting edges: Each insert offers two usable cutting edges to maximize life (except for BSPT/NPT/NPTF/American Buttress/API RD).
- Internal & external threading (where applicable): For many thread profiles, the same insert can machine both internal and external threads; some profiles require dedicated inserts (ISO/UN/UNS, etc.).
- TiAlN coating: Titanium aluminium nitride coating delivers enhanced hardness, wear resistance, and heat tolerance for longer tool life and consistent finishes.
This insert is built to improve reliability and efficiency in threaded part production. By covering a wide range of profiles with a single, TiAlN-coated carbide tool, you can reduce changeovers, lower tool inventory, and achieve consistent thread quality across batches. The two-edge design and robust coating help maintain sharpness during high-feed operations on common workpiece materials, while the compact geometry fits standard threading tools.
