Description
The Vortex Carbide End Mill for Aluminium & Non-Ferrous is engineered for precision aluminum machining. This 12 mm diameter, 75 mm length, 3-flute tool combines advanced coating with purposeful geometry to tackle chip evacuation, built-up edge prevention, and vibration control, delivering superior finishes and longer tool life in non-ferrous work.
- Premium Carbide Construction: Solid carbide core with superior hardness and wear resistance, maintaining edge integrity through extended production runs.
- 12 mm Diameter x 75 mm Length: Compact yet capable profile ideal for high-speed milling, contouring, and pocketing operations in non-ferrous materials.
- 3-Flute Design: Optimized for efficient chip clearance without sacrificing tool rigidity, allowing aluminum's sticky chips to move freely through the flutes.
- Variable Hi-Helix Geometry: Disperses cutting forces more evenly, reducing chatter and vibration during machining while helping to break up harmonics for smoother cutting action and improved surface finishes.
- DLC Coating: Diamond-Like Carbon coating provides high hardness, excellent wear resistance, low friction, and improved adhesion resistance for superior chip evacuation and longer tool life.
- Rainbow-Colored Coating Finish: Visual indicator of the DLC protective layer, reflecting premium coating quality and heat-treatment status.
The DLC coating, combined with the variable helix and 3-flute configuration, enables faster feeds, deeper cuts, and smoother finishes when working with aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. You’ll experience reduced built-up edge and improved chip evacuation with no curling on the body, along with lower vibration and longer tool life—typically 2–3x the longevity of uncoated tools. Ideal for aerospace, automotive, electronic housings, prototype fabrication, and rapid manufacturing where consistent surface quality and productivity matter.
