NPT thread gauges check American pipe thread against ASME B1.20.1 — the standard covering tapered pipe threads used on hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, plumbing and process piping. We stock plug and ring gauges from Asimeto and JBO, Go/NoGo pairs across the common NPT sizes from 1/16" up to 1.1/2", right hand.

Plug gauges check the internal thread on a tapped hole or fitting. The go member should thread in by hand to the reference plane; the no-go member shouldn't go more than a turn or two past hand-tight.

Ring gauges check the external thread on a nipple or male fitting — same go/no-go principle, checked against the mating ring rather than a tapped hole.
