Description
The VCOIL Plug Gauge (D/E) for UNC (STI) is a precision right-hand thread gauge designed for Helicoil applications. It combines go/no-go checks in a single, easy-to-use tool, built to ANSI/ASME standards for reliable threading verification.
- Type: Go/No-Go thread plug gauge for quick acceptance testing of threaded holes.
- Standards: Manufactured and inspected to ANSI/ASME thread specifications for consistency and compliance.
- Thread Type: UNC (Unified National Coarse), right-hand threading, aligned with common fastener systems.
- Size/Tolerance: 3B class fit, No. 12 x 24 size, suitable for D/E Helicoil gauge applications.
- Scrap Marking: Scrap side identified with a red ring for immediate visual detection of non-conforming threads.
- Construction Detail: Knurled grip and dual-threaded ends designed for durable, hands-on inspection.
- Reference Condition: Calibrated for a 20°C reference temperature to ensure measurement consistency.
How it helps: Use the go end to thread into the prepared hole by hand, confirming the thread meets the standard without excessive force. The scrap end should not allow more than two turns into the cut thread; if it does, the part fails the standard. This combination supports accurate quality control, reduces scrap risk, and speeds up routine inspections in manufacturing or repair environments. The red scrap indication and robust knurled design make it straightforward to use in busy shop settings while maintaining precise, repeatable results.
