Note the Shank
P blades are 2.6mm, C blades 3.2mm and R blades 6mm. The code tells you.
- 3
Choose a Handle
One handle takes every blade of its shank size, or start with a complete tool.
- 4
Keep Spares
Blades are interchangeable, so keep spares and change blades between jobs.
Questions
CP Gratex: Common Questions
What do the CP Gratex blade codes mean?
The letter gives the shank size: P blades are 2.6mm, C blades are 3.2mm and R blades are 6mm. An M in front, as in MC-10, means a multi cutting edge blade. The number gives the job, for example C-15 and MC-15 are both for stainless steel.
Which blade fits my handle?
Match the shank. The ET-1 and CG-1 handles take the 2.6mm P and MP blades, the ET-2 and D-SD-MK handles take the 3.2mm C and MC blades, and the R-SD-MK handle takes the 6mm R and MR blades.
Which blade should I use for stainless steel?
C-15 for the 3.2mm range, MC-15 for a multi cutting edge blade, or MR-15 for extra heavy duty work with a 6mm shank.
How do I deburr the back of a hole?
Use a back-side blade: C-60 for sheet up to 20mm thick, or P6 for sheet up to 15mm. To do both edges of a hole in one pass, use C-30, or P3 for sheet up to 6mm.
What are the bar chamfering heads for?
They chamfer the outside and inside of bar and tube ends. The 60° and 90° heads cover outside diameters from 16 to 58mm and inside diameters from 16 to 62mm. Use the ratchet handle by hand or the locking holder in a power tool.
