The Carmex Carbide Tiny Tool - Full Radius Grooving is a compact solid carbide bar designed for precise full-radius grooving on small-diameter workpieces, with strong general turning capability for a wide range of tasks. It’s built for reliability and repeatable results in shops, production environments, and hobbyist setups alike. The tool line offers two coated grades to match different materials and cutting conditions, enhancing versatility without compromising performance.
- Full-radius grooving with general turning capability: Engineered to handle full-radius grooves on tight radii while also suitable for general turning, reducing tool changes and increasing setup efficiency on complex parts.
- Two coated grades for different materials and speeds: BXC with PVD TiN coating delivers efficient cutting at low speeds and pairs well with a wide range of stainless steels (ISO P30-P50 / K25-K40); BMK provides a sub-micron grade with advanced PVD triple coating for maximum heat resistance and smooth cutting across materials (ISO K10-K20).
- Precise, compact geometry for tight pockets: Features a 6.1 mm minimum diameter, 1.5 mm groove width, and a 15 mm reach, ensuring stable engagement and accurate radii in confined spaces.
By combining dedicated full-radius capability with coating options optimized for both low-speed stainless steel work and high-heat, all-material feasibility, this tool helps you reduce downtime, improve surface finishes, and achieve consistent radii in tight pockets. The precise geometry supports reliable cutting in restricted areas, enabling faster setups, fewer reworks, and smoother overall machining workflow.
