Dormer Pramet R459 27/64 Inch CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK LONG SERIES (X8D) DRILL

The Dormer Pramet R459 drill is a 27/64 inch carbide drill engineered for precise, reliable hole making across steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. With a stepped long shank, it’s ideal for deep holes and hard-to-reach work, delivering consistent results in both hobbyist shops and professional production environments.

• Self-centering 140° four-facet split point: Starts cleanly, minimizes wandering, and reduces push force to improve first-hole accuracy and overall drilling efficiency.
• TiAlN coating for longer life and higher-speed cutting: The protective coating reduces wear on the cutting edge, extending tool life and maintaining sharpness when drilling harder materials, which supports faster, more productive drilling.
• CTW flute design with coolant feed for stronger, faster drilling: Optimized flute geometry and integrated coolant delivery enhance rigidity and chip evacuation, enabling higher speeds and feeds for deeper holes and better surface quality.

This drill is built to deliver high-quality, repeatable results with h9 hole tolerance, thanks to its premium carbide core and advanced coating. The long stepped shank adds reach and stability for deep or difficult-access holes, helping you reduce downtime, improve workflow, and achieve consistent performance across a wide range of materials and applications.
