Dormer Pramet R459 9/16 Inch CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK LONG SERIES (X8D) DRILL

The Dormer Pramet R459 9/16 Inch Carbide TiAlN Force-X Stepped Shank Long Series Drill is a premium deep-hole drill designed for professionals who need reliable performance across steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Built with a stepped shank and a long flute length, it delivers the reach and stability required for accurate holes in challenging workpieces.

This drill combines a 140° four‑facet split point for self‑centering with reduced starting push, a durable TiAlN coating to extend tool life, and a CTW flute design with coolant feed to boost strength and enable higher cutting speeds and feeds. Together, these features deliver consistent results in demanding applications.

• 140° four‑facet split point: Self-centering starting reduces wandering and lowers the push force needed to begin holes, enabling cleaner starts and faster setup.
• TiAlN coating for extended life: Titanium Aluminium Nitride enhances wear resistance, delivering longer tool life and reliable performance across steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• CTW flute design with coolant feed: Optimized flute geometry and integrated coolant delivery improve rigidity and chip evacuation, allowing higher speeds and feeds while maintaining tight hole quality (h9 tolerance).

This combination supports faster drilling cycles, fewer tool changes, and repeatable hole quality, helping you complete projects on time with confidence. The R459 drill is a dependable choice for professional workshops and serious hobbyists who demand durable carbide performance and consistent results across a range of materials.
