Dormer Pramet R459 4.20 mm CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK LONG SERIES (X8D) DRILL

The Dormer Pramet R459 4.20 mm carbide drill is a high-performance cutting tool built for professionals who demand clean, accurate holes across a variety of materials. This long-series, stepped-shank drill combines premium carbide with a TiAlN coating to deliver long tool life and dependable results in everyday fabrication and precision drilling tasks.

Its 140° 4-facet split point helps start holes precisely without wandering, while the CTW flute design and coolant feed boost strength and allow higher cutting speeds and feeds. The result is consistent hole quality with tight tolerances (h9) even when drilling tough materials such as steel, aluminium, and stainless steel.

• 140° 4‑facet split point: Self-centers at contact and reduces the starting push force, helping you start holes cleanly with less wandering.
• TiAlN coating for longer life: Titanium aluminium nitride coating extends tool life and improves performance when drilling harder materials, so you get more holes from each drill.
• CTW flute design with coolant feed: Optimized flute geometry and coolant delivery provide increased strength and allow higher cutting speeds and feeds for faster, more stable hole creation.

By combining a robust carbide core with advanced coating and optimized geometry, the R459 delivers reliable, precise holes with consistent tolerances across common engineering materials. This drill helps you reduce rework, speed up production, and achieve high-quality results—every time.
