Dormer Pramet R459 7.40 mm CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK LONG SERIES (X8D) DRILL

The Dormer Pramet R459 7.40 mm carbide drill with a long stepped shank (X8D) is built for professional workshops and demanding applications. It delivers fast, accurate holes across steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and other common metals, with extended reach and stability for deep holes.

Key design features include a 140° four-facet split point for self-centering starts and reduced push force, a TiAlN coating to boost tool life and performance on harder materials, and a CTW flute design with coolant feed that supports higher cutting speeds and feeds while maintaining edge strength.

• 140° 4-Facet Split Point for Easy Starting: Starts holes precisely with less wandering and reduced pushing force, improving first-pass accuracy in a range of metals.
• TiAlN Coating for Longer Life: Increases wear resistance and heat tolerance, extending drill life and maintaining sharpness when drilling steel, aluminium, and stainless steel.
• CTW Flute Design with Coolant Feed: Enhanced chip evacuation and edge strength allow higher speeds and feeds, delivering cleaner holes and lower risk of clogging or dulling.

Together, these design choices let you drill faster and more consistently, reduce tool changes, and achieve precise, repeatable holes with h9 tolerance. The R459’s premium carbide construction, coated reliability, and long reach make it a dependable choice for everyday drilling tasks and challenging projects alike.
