Dormer Pramet R459 3/8 Inch CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK LONG SERIES (X8D) DRILL

The Dormer Pramet R459 3/8 Inch Carbide TiAlN Force-X Stepped Shank Long Series drill is built for professionals who demand durable, precise holes across a variety of materials. This long-reach, 3/8" carbide drill combines a stepped shank (X8D) with a TiAlN coating to maximize life and performance in demanding work.
The 140° four-facet split point helps with self-centering and reduces push force, so you get clean starts and less wandering right from the first hole.

• Self-centering 140° 4‑facet split point: reduces wandering and entry push force, delivering clean starts and higher first-pass accuracy
• TiAlN coating for longer life: protects the carbide and delivers extended service life and better performance when drilling harder materials
• CTW flute design with coolant feed: adds strength and rigidity while enabling higher speeds and feeds for faster, consistent hole quality

In practice, the R459 drill is versatile enough to tackle steel, aluminium, and stainless steel with confidence. Its premium carbide core, combined with the TiAlN coating and optimized flute design, supports high-speed drilling while maintaining the tight h9 hole tolerance you rely on for accurate fits and reliable assemblies. This makes it a dependable choice for shops, manufacturers, and serious hobbyists who value repeatable results and reduced downtime.
