Dormer Pramet R459 4.00 mm CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK LONG SERIES (X8D) DRILL

The Dormer Pramet R459 4.00 mm carbide drill is a high-performance tool built to deliver precise, reliable holes across a range of materials. Its long FORCE-X stepped shank design provides sturdy grip and extended reach for deep-hole work, making it ideal for professional workshops, fabricators, and serious hobbyists alike.

With a 140-degree four-facet split point, this drill starts quickly and self-centers, reducing push force and helping holes stay true. The TiAlN coating boosts tool life and performance when drilling harder materials, while the CTW flute design with coolant feed supports higher speeds and feeds without sacrificing hole quality. Crafted from premium carbide, it handles steel, aluminium, and stainless steel with consistent results.

• Self-centering 140° four-facet split point: Starts precisely and reduces the force needed to begin cutting, helping you avoid wandering and achieve cleaner holes.
• TiAlN coating for longer tool life: Extends service life and maintains sharpness when working with harder materials, reducing replacement costs.
• CTW flute design with coolant feed: Increases strength and enables higher cutting speeds and feeds for faster, reliable holemaking.

This drill is designed to deliver reliable, repeatable results across common metals, helping you improve throughput and reduce rework. The combination of premium carbide, TiAlN coating, and optimized point geometry provides consistent hole size and finish (H9 tolerance) at higher speeds, while the long stepped shank offers robust grip and extended reach for challenging workpieces. Whether you’re setting up a production run or tackling a one-off project, this drill helps you finish jobs faster with confidence.
