Dormer Pramet R459 4.80 mm CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK LONG SERIES (X8D) DRILL

The Dormer Pramet R459 is a 4.80 mm carbide drill designed for fast, accurate hole‑making in steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. It features a 140-degree, four-facet split point for self‑centering and reduced start‑up force, helping you start holes precisely where you want them. The TiAlN coating, advanced flute design with coolant feed, and premium carbide deliver long tool life and dependable performance at higher speeds and feeds, producing clean holes with tight tolerances (H9).

• 140° split point for self-centering: The four-facet geometry minimizes wandering and reduces the push force required to begin cutting, giving you accurate starts every time.
• TiAlN coating for extended life: The coating enhances wear resistance, improving performance on harder materials and delivering longer service life across steel, aluminum and stainless steel.
• Force-X stepped shank with CTW flute and coolant feed: Improves rigidity and stability while enabling higher cutting speeds and efficient chip evacuation for faster cycles and reliable hole quality.

This drill helps you work faster and more confidently: smooth starts with the self-centering point, longer service life from the TiAlN coating, and stable performance at higher speeds thanks to the Force‑X design. Expect clean, repeatable holes with tight H9 tolerances, reduced downtime, and fewer tool changes across your steel, aluminum, and stainless steel projects.
