Description

The Dormer Pramet R459 4.90 mm Carbide TiAlN FORCE-X Stepped Shank Long Series drill is built for professionals and serious hobbyists who demand consistent, high-quality holes across a range of metals. With a long X8D stepped shank, it delivers stable, precise drilling in setups from manual to CNC machines, making it a reliable choice for production runs and tough jobs.

140° 4‑Facet Split Point: Starts accurately on contact, centers itself quickly, and reduces push force to minimize wandering during initial penetration.
TiAlN Coating for Longer Life: Extends tool life and improves performance when drilling harder materials, helping you pull more holes between tool changes.
CTW Flute Design with Coolant Feed: Enhanced strength and chip control allow higher cutting speeds and feeds while maintaining finish quality and reducing heat buildup.

This premium carbide drill is suited for steel, aluminium, and stainless steel, delivering high-quality, accurate holes even at elevated speeds and feeds with tight hole tolerance (h9). The combination of a robust stepped shank, FORCE-X geometry, and the advanced coating ensures dependable performance in demanding applications, helping you finish jobs faster with fewer reworks.
