The Y.T. Indexable T-Slot Cutter (3T1640-4.0) is a metric-compatible milling tool designed for CNC machinists and production floor operators who need dependable T-slot generation without sacrificing setup time. Engineered around a 60 mm saw diameter and built to accept LNGT indexable inserts, this cutter combines straightforward tool maintenance with repeatable cut dimensions across carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and cast iron.
- Saw Diameter: Measured at 60 mm to provide a consistent cutting zone that balances material removal rates with spindle stability.
- Insert Compatibility: Optimized for LNGT indexable inserts, allowing rapid seating and straightforward replacement without requiring additional wrenches or alignment tools.
- Insert Width Range: Supports 2–2.5 mm insert widths, giving operators flexibility to pair the correct geometry with different slot depths, step heights, or workpiece materials.
- Series and Model Configuration: Identified as the Y.T. 3T series (model 3T1640-4.0), featuring a standardized metric bore and mounting interface for direct integration into common arbors and spindle adapters.
- Metric Measurement System: Fully dimensioned to metric standards, ensuring predictable fitment on ISO-compliant milling machines, vertical/horizontal machining centers, and automated tool magazines.
This indexable architecture removes the cost and labor involved in regrinding or discarding solid slotting cutters when edges dull. By swapping out worn LNGT Inserts instead of replacing the entire body, operators reduce scrap rates and keep machine uptime high. The fixed 60 mm diameter maintains even chip evacuation and minimizes harmonic vibration during extended CNC cycles, which helps preserve T-slot perpendicularity and surface finish. Standard metric sizing also simplifies shop inventory management, since the cutter mounts directly onto commonly available tooling stations without requiring adapters or custom spacers.
