Description
The Y.T. 3TS2580-12 Indexable T-Slot Cutter delivers precision CNC slot milling in a modular 3T package built for metric machine tools. Constructed around a tapered-polygon shank interface, it accepts standard 2 to 2.5 mm LNGT inserts while maintaining tight center alignment and repeatable positioning across extended production runs.
- Model and Architecture: 3TS2580-12 belongs to the 3T modular family, enabling rapid corner indexing without removing the tool holder from the spindle.
- Shank Interface: Supports the complete CAPTO shank lineup, utilizing a tapered-polygon drive that prevents slip and guarantees exact radial alignment under load.
- Insert Compatibility: Cuts with LNGT inserts measuring 2–2.5 mm in width and integrates directly with the broader UFO insert supply chain for streamlined stocking.
- Cutting Profile: 32 mm saw diameter sized to match standard T-slot machining dimensions and depth specifications.
- Swarf Management: Optimized rake angles and cleared flute paths direct chips away from the cutting zone, reducing vibration and secondary passes.
This cutter resolves the fragility and waste associated with HSS or weld-on T-slot tools. The polygon centering mechanism limits runout, which preserves insert edge integrity and holds slot tolerances consistently. Operators save cycle time because indexed corners rotate in seconds, and the shared UFO insert pool shrinks specialized inventory costs. By accepting higher feeds and sustaining stable power transmission, it raises overall machining throughput while keeping setup duration and scrapped parts to a minimum.
