Description

Meet the Dormer Pramet R458 3/4 in Carbide TiAlN FORCE-X Stepped Shank Short Drill (X3D). This high-performance drill is built for professionals and serious hobbyists who need reliable, precise holes through steel, aluminium, and stainless steel. Its 3/4" diameter, DIN 6537 K stepped shank, and compact short-series design make it a versatile choice for limited-access jobs and quick tool changes.

Engineered for durability and consistent hole quality, this drill combines a hard carbide core with a TiAlN coating and a purpose-built flute geometry. The 140° four-facet split point ensures self-centering with less push force, the CTW flute design boosts strength and enables higher speeds and feeds, and the coating plus substrate deliver longer tool life and reliable performance even in demanding materials. It’s capable of delivering high-quality, accurate holes with h9 tolerance at speed and feed, making it a dependable choice for production and assembly runs.

140° Four-Facet Split Point: Self-centering start with reduced startup force, helping you achieve clean first holes and minimize wandering.
CTW Flute Design for Strength and Speed: Enhanced rigidity and chip evacuation that supports higher cutting speeds and feeds without sacrificing hole quality.
Premium Carbide with TiAlN Coating: Versatile across steel, aluminium, and stainless, with longer tool life and reliable performance at higher speeds, delivering consistent hole sizes within h9 tolerance.

With this drill in your arsenal, you can expect smoother setup, fewer rework cycles, and faster cycle times. The robust short-body design helps reach confined spaces, while the stepped shank and DIN 6537 K compatibility ensure secure, repeatable performance across a range of tool holders. Ideal for fabrication, maintenance, and precision drilling projects, it delivers dependable results job after job, helping you complete tasks faster and with greater accuracy.
