Dormer Pramet R458 8.50 mm CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

The Dormer Pramet R458 8.50 mm carbide drill is a high-performance tool designed for professionals who demand precision, durability, and versatile use across common engineering materials. With a premium carbide composition and a Titanium Aluminium Nitride (TiAlN) coating, this drill is built to deliver reliable hole quality in steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, even under demanding production conditions. It features a DIN 6537 K shank and a short, FORCE-X stepped shank design for secure seating in tight or constrained workspaces.

The tool pairs a 140-degree, 4-facet split point with a CTW flute design to enhance self-centering and reduce starting push force, helping you begin holes exactly on mark and maintain alignment. The TiAlN coating boosts wear resistance and tool life, while the special flute geometry supports higher cutting speeds and feeds. Together with the premium carbide substrate, it enables high-quality, accurate holes (h9 tolerance) at speed, making it suitable for a wide range of materials and thicknesses.

• 140° 4-Facet Split Point: Self-centering entry minimizes wandering and reduces push force, helping you start holes cleanly and maintain alignment across materials.
• TiAlN Coating on Premium Carbide: Extends tool life and sustains sharpness when drilling harder or thicker materials, delivering consistent performance over time.
• CTW Flute Design + FORCE-X Short Shank: Increased strength and stability enable higher speeds and feeds with reliable seating in tight spaces for repeatable, high-quality holes.

Designed for reliability and fast, accurate results, the R458 drill supports efficient workflows in OEM shops, fabrication environments, and serious hobbyist setups alike. It helps you produce clean, precise holes with minimal rework, boosts productivity, and delivers consistent performance across a range of common materials and applications.
