Dormer Pramet R458 6.80 mm CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

The Dormer Pramet R458 6.80 mm carbide drill is built for professionals and serious hobbyists who need reliable, precision hole making across a variety of materials. With a DIN 6537 K stepped short shank (X3D) design, it fits secure toolholding and delivers consistent results in compact chucks.

Its 140-degree, four-facet split point centers itself to reduce wandering and lowers the push force required for a clean entry in steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

• 140° four-facet split point: Self-centering start that reduces wandering and lowers the push force required for a clean entry in a variety of materials.
• TiAlN coating: Extends tool life and improves performance on harder materials, thanks to wear- and heat-resistant coating; built on premium carbide for reliable drilling across steel, aluminium, and stainless steel.
• CTW flute design: Strengthened flute geometry enables higher cutting speeds and feeds while maintaining hole quality and reducing vibration.

By choosing the Dormer Pramet R458, you gain a drill that combines precise hole quality with long life and versatile material compatibility. The 140° split point minimizes wandering for clean starts, while the TiAlN coating and premium carbide construction resist wear at higher speeds, reducing tool changes and downtime. The CTW flute design supports aggressive feeds without sacrificing hole quality, and the stepped shank ensures a secure, stable fit in common toolholders, helping you consistently hit H9 hole tolerance with fewer passes.
