Dormer Pramet R458 47/64 Inch CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

The Dormer Pramet R458 carbide drill is a high-performance tool designed for fast, accurate hole creation in metalworking projects. With a 47/64 inch diameter and a short FORCE-X stepped shank, this DIN 6537 K drill is well suited for tight spaces and demanding materials.

Its 140-degree 4-facet split point aids self-centering and reduces push force, helping you start holes cleanly and with less effort. The Titanium Aluminum Nitride (TiAlN) coating increases tool life and wear resistance, while the CTW flute design supports higher cutting speeds and feeds, delivering consistent performance across a variety of metals and maintaining tight hole tolerance.

• Self-centering 140° 4‑facet split point: Ensures precise starts with minimal wandering, reducing push force and improving hole accuracy even in challenging workpieces.
• TiAlN coating for longer drill life: Enhances wear resistance and heat tolerance, extending service life when drilling steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• FORCE-X CTW flute design with stepped shank: Adds rigidity for higher cutting speeds and feeds, promotes efficient chip evacuation, and delivers consistent hole quality in demanding applications.

This combination of geometry, coating, and robust carbide material translates into real-world benefits: faster, more predictable hole production, reduced tooling downtime, and reliable performance across common metals. The DIN 6537 K shank ensures compatibility with standard tool holders, making the R458 drill a versatile addition to any workshop or production line seeking precise, repeatable results with minimal rework.
