The Dormer Pramet R458 N16 carbide drill is a high-performance cutting tool designed for professionals who demand precise, productive hole-making in metal. Built with a short-series stepped shank (X3D) and DIN 6537 K compatibility, it fits securely in standard holders and excels in tight spaces.

Key features include a 140-degree four-facet split point for self-centering and reduced starting push force, and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life while improving performance on tougher materials. The CTW flute design, paired with premium carbide, supports high-speed drilling and delivers consistently high-quality holes with tight h9 tolerances.

• 140° Four-Facet Split Point: Self-centering and reduces starting push force for clean starts and less wandering.
• TiAlN Coating: Extends tool life and improves performance on harder materials by resisting heat and wear.
• CTW Flute Design with Short-Stepped Shank: Adds strength for high-speed cutting and stability in tight spaces, enabling higher speeds and feeds.

In operation, the R458 N16 delivers reliable, high-quality holes with h9 tolerance, even at higher speeds and feeds. Its DIN 6537 K shank ensures compatibility with standard holders, while the short-series stepped design helps you work in restricted spaces. This drill is versatile enough for steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, helping you finish jobs faster with consistent results and smoother surface finishes.
