Dormer Pramet R458 Q CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

The Dormer Pramet R458 Q carbide drill from the Force-X short series is built for professionals who demand precision and reliability in metalworking. Its 140-degree, four-facet split point self-centers on contact, minimizing wandering and reducing the push force needed to start each hole.

Made from premium carbide and finished with a Titanium Aluminium Nitride (TiAlN) coating, this drill delivers longer life and better performance when drilling harder materials. The CTW flute design adds strength and supports higher speeds and feeds, enabling clean, accurate holes in steel, aluminum, and stainless steel with tight tolerances (h9).

• Self-centering 140° four-facet split point: Ensures precise hole starts with minimal wandering, reducing push force and improving first-pass accuracy.
• TiAlN coating for longer life: Titanium Aluminium Nitride coating increases wear resistance, extending tool life when drilling harder materials and delivering consistent performance.
• CTW flute design for higher speed and strength: Special flute geometry adds rigidity and allows you to run at higher cutting speeds and feeds while maintaining hole quality in steel, aluminium, and stainless steel.

By choosing this drill, you invest in a tool that delivers consistent hole quality, longer service life, and faster throughput. The R458 Q is designed to perform across a range of materials—steel, aluminum, and stainless—while maintaining tight tolerances (h9) even at higher speeds and feeds. This translates to less downtime, fewer re-drills, and better overall part quality for both professional shops and ambitious DIY projects.
