Dormer Pramet R458 4.20 mm CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

The Dormer Pramet R458 4.20 mm carbide drill (DIN 6537 K), part of the FORCE-X stepped shank short series (X3D), is built for reliable hole making across common metals. Its 140° 4-facet split point helps self-center the start and reduces the push force required, delivering smoother starts and more consistent holes.

Coated with Titanium Aluminium Nitride, this drill lasts longer and delivers better performance when drilling harder materials. The ctW flute design adds rigidity and supports higher cutting speeds and feeds, while the premium carbide construction handles steel, aluminium, and stainless steel with dependable results and tight tolerance (h9).

• 140° 4-Facet Split Point for Self-Centering and Reduced Start-Up Force: Designed to begin cutting cleanly without wandering, which improves accuracy and minimizes effort during setup.
• TiAlN Coating for Longer Life and Hard Material Performance: Extends tool life and maintains sharpness when drilling tougher metals, reducing tool changes and downtime.
• ctW Flute Design for Increased Strength and High-Speed Capability: Provides greater rigidity to handle higher speeds and feeds, enabling faster hole production with consistent quality.

This drill is a versatile, reliable choice for technicians, engineers, and hobbyists who need precise, repeatable holes across steel, aluminium, and stainless steel. Its combination of self-centering point, durable coating, and robust flute design supports efficient workflows, reduces rework, and helps you achieve accurate h9 hole tolerance holes with confidence.
