Description

The Dormer Pramet R458 35/64 Inch Carbide TiAlN FORCE-X Stepped Shank Short Series (X3D) drill, DIN 6537 K, is a high‑performance cutting tool designed for precise hole making across steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. With a stepped shank and a compact short‑series X3D body, it fits securely in common holders and thrives in tight spaces, making it ideal for engineers, fabricators, hobbyists, and maintenance teams alike.

Equipped with a 140° four‑facet split point, this drill starts accurately with minimal push force. The TiAlN coating extends tool life and enhances performance when drilling harder materials, while the CTW flute design and premium carbide material support higher cutting speeds and feeds for consistently high‑quality holes with tight tolerances.

140° four‑facet split point: Self-centering entry reduces wandering and lowers the push force required to start a hole, especially at higher speeds.
TiAlN coating for longer life: Extends drill life and improves performance when drilling harder materials like stainless steel, helping you maintain sharpness between regrinds.
CTW flute design with premium carbide: Increases strength and enables higher cutting speeds and feeds, delivering fast material removal and consistently accurate holes across a range of materials.

This combination of geometry, coating, and material makes the R458 drill a reliable choice for demanding jobs. It helps you finish holes accurately and efficiently, reduces rework, and supports consistent results across steel, aluminum, and stainless steel projects. With DIN 6537 K compatibility and a stepped shank for secure tool engagement, you can trust it to perform reliably in busy production environments.
