Dormer Pramet R458 L CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

The Dormer Pramet R458 L carbide drill with TiAlN FORCE-X coating is a high-performance tool designed for precise holemaking across a range of metals. Built for engineers, fabricators, tradespeople, hobbyists, and DIYers, it delivers reliable starts, long tool life, and consistent hole quality in steel, aluminium, and stainless steel. Its stepped shank and short series are optimized for robust performance in everyday workshop setups.

The 140-degree four-facet split point helps the drill self-center for clean starts and reduces the push force required, minimizing wandering and chatter at entry. A Titanium Aluminium Nitride coating further increases service life and improves performance when drilling harder materials, helping you extend tool life and reduce replacement costs. The CTW flute design adds strength while enabling higher cutting speeds and feeds, boosting productivity without sacrificing accuracy.

• 140° Four-Facet Split Point: Self-centering start with reduced push force and cleaner hole entry for accurate drilling.
• TiAlN Coating for Extended Life: Higher wear resistance and better performance on harder materials, increasing tool life.
• CTW Flute Design for Strength and Speed: Enhanced drill rigidity with the ability to run at higher speeds and feeds for faster, productive drilling.

Designed to deliver high-quality, reproducible results, this drill combines premium carbide with optimized geometry to handle a variety of materials. Its stepped shank aids secure seating in common toolholders, supporting consistent performance and reducing downtime, making it a dependable choice for production environments and demanding projects alike.
