Dormer Pramet R457 17.50 mm CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK COOLANT FEED SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

The Dormer Pramet R457 is a 17.50 mm carbide drill engineered for high-speed, high-precision holemaking across a variety of metals, including steel, aluminium, and stainless steel. Its 140-degree, four-facet split point helps the tip self-center and start holes cleanly, reducing the force needed to break into the material and minimizing wandering.

Designed for demanding shop floors and professional projects, this drill features a Titanium Aluminium Nitride (TiAlN) coating that extends tool life and maintains cutting performance on harder materials. The special flute design with coolant feed enhances strength and stability, enabling higher cutting speeds and feeds while delivering reliable chip evacuation. The short series with a stepped shank (X3D) and compatibility with DIN 6537 K holders make it a practical, ready-to-use solution for precise, repeatable holes with h9 tolerance.

• Self-centering 140° 4‑facet split point: Ensures accurate entry and reduces push force, helping you start holes quickly and with minimal wandering.
• TiAlN coating with CTW flute design and coolant feed: Extends tool life and sustains sharpness when drilling harder materials, while coolant-assisted flutes allow higher speeds and efficient chip removal.
• Premium carbide with stepped shank (X3D) and DIN 6537 K compatibility: Provides stable, precise performance in shallow bores and across common tool-holding systems, enabling faster setups and consistent results.

Together, the drill delivers reliable, high-quality holes with tight tolerances, improving throughput and reducing rework. It’s a versatile, durable choice for professional fabrication, maintenance, and engineering workflows where accuracy, speed, and tool life matter.
