Dormer Pramet R457 17/64 Inch CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK COOLANT FEED SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

The Dormer Pramet R457 17/64 Inch carbide drill is a compact, high‑performance tool designed for professionals, technicians, and serious hobbyists who need clean, accurate holes fast. With a stepped shank and coolant‑fed design in the Short Series, it fits DIN 6537 K holders and is ready for demanding production environments.

Built from premium carbide and finished with a TiAlN coating, this drill is capable across a wide range of metals including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. The 140‑degree, four‑facet split point helps it start precisely with less pushing force, while the special flute design with coolant delivery increases strength and enables higher speeds and feeds. These features combine to deliver high‑quality holes with tight tolerances (h9) even under tougher drilling conditions.

• 140° Four‑Facet Split Point for self-centering: Starts holes with precision, reduces wandering, and lowers the push force needed for a clean, accurate first cut.
• TiAlN Coating for extended tool life: Increases wear resistance and maintains performance when drilling harder materials, reducing tool changes and downtime.
• Coolant‑fed flute design for higher speeds and feeds: Direct coolant delivery and optimized flute geometry enable faster holeing with strong edge stability and better chip evacuation.

The R457 drill delivers reliable, repeatable results across common metals, helping you complete jobs faster with less rework. Its DIN 6537 K compatible stepped shank, combined with high‑quality carbide and coating, supports efficient setup and consistent hole quality, making it a dependable choice for production lines, workshops, and demanding fabrication tasks.
