Dormer Pramet R457 9.50 mm CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK COOLANT FEED SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

The Dormer Pramet R457 is a 9.50 mm carbide drill designed for reliable, high‑performance hole making across steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Its 140° four‑facet split point starts holes cleanly, self‑centers, and minimizes wandering to improve first‑hole accuracy.

Coated with Titanium Aluminium Nitride (TiAlN), the R457 extends tool life and improves performance when drilling harder materials. The stepped shank paired with a special flute design and coolant feed delivers greater strength, supports higher cutting speeds and feeds, and helps maintain consistent hole quality from start to finish.

• Self-centering 140° four-facet split point: starts holes with minimal push force and reduces wandering, ensuring precise, true holes right from the first cut.
• TiAlN coating for longer life: significantly increases tool life and sustains sharpness when drilling tougher materials, lowering replacement frequency.
• Special flute design with coolant feed: enhances strength and enables higher cutting speeds and feeds while promoting reliable chip evacuation for smooth, consistent results.

Designed to fit standard toolholders with a DIN 6537 K shank, the R457 delivers dependable performance across a range of materials and applications. Its premium carbide composition, combined with the TiAlN coating and optimized geometry, supports faster drilling, reduced downtime, and repeatable hole quality for both production environments and precise, on‑site work.
