Dormer Pramet R457 N17 CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK COOLANT FEED SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

The Dormer Pramet R457 N17 carbide drill combines premium tooling with intelligent design for reliable metal drilling. Built for engineers, machinists, fabricators, and DIY enthusiasts, it features a Force-X stepped shank and coolant feed in a compact short-series (X3D) form, making it ideal for tight setups and demanding production runs. Its multi-material capability means you can drill steel, aluminum, and stainless steel with confidence.

A 140-degree, four-facet split point delivers precise, self-centering starts while reducing the push force required to begin holes. The TiAlN coating enhances wear resistance, extending tool life and maintaining cutting performance when working harder materials. The CTW flute design with coolant feed adds stiffness and allows higher cutting speeds and feeds for faster hole production without sacrificing accuracy.

• 140° four-facet split point: Self-centering entry that minimizes dwell time and reduces thrust, helping you start holes cleanly every time.
• TiAlN-coated premium carbide: Delivers longer tool life and consistent performance across steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, even under tougher cutting conditions.
• CTW flute design with coolant feed: Increases rigidity and enables higher speeds and feeds, producing faster, high-quality holes with reliable finishes.

Designed for repeatable accuracy, this drill achieves high-quality holes with tight h9 tolerances across common metals. Its DIN 6537 K compatibility ensures a secure fit in standard holders, while the short-series, stepped shank minimizes overhang and improves stability in confined setups. The result is less rework, reduced downtime, and a smoother, more efficient drilling workflow from first hole to last.
