Dormer Pramet R457 4.70 mm CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK COOLANT FEED SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

The Dormer Pramet R457 4.70 mm carbide drill is a precision hole-making solution designed for engineers, tradespeople, and serious hobbyists who need clean, accurate holes quickly. Its 140° four-facet split point self-centers on contact, reducing the push force required to start a hole and helping prevent wandering during entry.

This drill is built for durability and performance. A Titanium Aluminium Nitride (TiAlN) coating extends tool life and enhances performance when drilling harder materials. A special flute design with coolant feed increases strength, enables higher cutting speeds and feeds, and supports reliable chip evacuation. The short-series design with a Force-X stepped shank fits DIN 6537 K holders for secure, repeatable use across a range of materials, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

• Self-centering 140° four-facet split point: Ensures precise starts with minimal wandering and reduced insertion force, delivering accurate holes from the first cut.
• TiAlN coating for longer life: Significantly increases tool life and performance when drilling harder materials by reducing wear and heat buildup.
• Flute design with coolant feed: Provides higher strength at speed, improves chip evacuation, and supports higher cutting speeds and feeds for consistent, quality results.

Using the R457 4.70 mm drill translates to faster, more reliable hole production with consistent tolerances and reduced downtime. Its robust carbide composition, coating, and optimized coolant-assisted design help you achieve high-quality holes (h9 tolerance) across a variety of materials, making it a dependable choice for busy shops and demanding applications.
