Description

The Dormer Pramet R457 9.60 mm carbide drill is a DIN 6537-K compatible, coolant-fed tool from the FORCE-X line. Built for reliable performance in metalworking—from workshops to production floors—it combines premium carbide, a precision coating, and a smart flute design to deliver consistent, high-quality holes in steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. The short, stepped shank and coolant feed support steady cutting in a range of setups, helping you move from setup to finished hole with confidence.

Designed for precise starts and minimal driving force, the 140-degree, 4-facet split point centers quickly and reduces wandering, so you get accurate hole initiation even in challenging materials. The Titanium Aluminium Nitride (TiAlN) coating extends tool life by resisting wear and helping manage heat, enabling better performance when drilling tougher metals. The CTW flute design combined with coolant delivery provides increased strength and supports higher cutting speeds and feeds, while maintaining effective chip evacuation for smoother, more reliable drilling cycles.

Self-centering 140° 4-facet split point: starts holes cleanly with less push force and reduced wander, improving first-hole accuracy and reducing setup time
TiAlN coating for extended life: delivers greater wear resistance and heat tolerance, enhancing performance on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
CTW flute design with coolant feed on a short stepped shank: boosts rigidity and cooling efficiency, enabling higher speeds and feeds with reliable chip evacuation

This 9.60 mm carbide drill provides repeatable, high-quality hole quality at the required h9 tolerance, making it a dependable choice for engineers, fabricators, and hobbyists who demand consistent results from first cut to the last. Its rugged construction and intelligent design help reduce downtime, improve workflow, and deliver precise holes with confidence across a variety of metals.
