Dormer Pramet R457 8.70 mm CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK COOLANT FEED SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

The Dormer Pramet R457 8.70 mm carbide drill is engineered for professionals who need fast, precise holes across a variety of metals. With a DIN 6537 K shank and a short overall length, this drill is ideal for compact setups, demanding environments, and quick-change applications while delivering reliable, repeatable results.

Coated with Titanium Aluminium Nitride (TiAlN) for extended tool life, it maintains sharpness longer and performs consistently on harder materials. The 140° four-facet split point provides self-centering starts with less push force, while the CTW flute design and coolant feed enhance strength and allow higher cutting speeds and feeds for efficient drilling.

• Self-centering 140° split point: starts holes quickly and accurately with less effort, reducing wandering and improving first-pass success.
• TiAlN coating for longer life: increases wear resistance, extends tool life, and improves performance on tougher materials like steel and stainless steel.
• CTW flute design with coolant feed: delivers solid rigidity at higher speeds and feeds, boosts chip evacuation, and enables reliable, fast drilling without sacrificing hole quality.

Designed to produce high-quality, dimensionally consistent holes (h9 tolerance) across a range of common metals, this drill helps you speed up workflows, reduce downtime, and achieve repeatable results in production or workshop settings. Its robust carbide construction and coating translate to fewer tool changes and more predictable performance in challenging drilling tasks.
