Dormer Pramet R457 8.90 mm CARBIDE TIALN FORCE-X STEPPED SHANK COOLANT FEED SHORT SERIES (X3D) DRILL DIN 6537 K

The Dormer Pramet R457 8.90 mm carbide drill is a premium cutting tool designed for fast, accurate holemaking across a range of materials. Its compact, short-series X3D stepped shank and coolant-feed design make it well suited for production environments, machine shops, and on-site work where consistency matters.

Built for durability, the drill uses a premium carbide core with a Titanium Aluminium Nitride (TiAlN) coating to extend tool life and sustain performance on tougher materials. Its 8.90 mm diameter, DIN 6537 K geometry, and capability to produce holes with h9 tolerance help you achieve clean, repeatable results in steel, aluminium, and stainless steel.

• Self-centering start with 140° four-facet point: The split-point geometry reduces wandering at start-up, lowers the push force required, and helps you hit the intended hole location on the first cut.
• TiAlN coating for longer life and tougher performance: The coating minimizes wear and heat, extending tool life and maintaining cutting performance when drilling harder materials.
• Coolant-fed flute design for higher speeds and reliability: The flute geometry combined with coolant delivery enhances rigidity, improves chip evacuation, and enables higher cutting speeds and feeds without sacrificing hole quality.

This drill delivers precise, repeatable results with minimal downtime, enabling faster throughput and consistent hole quality across common engineering applications. Its 8.90 mm size, h9 tolerance capability, and DIN 6537 K compatibility make it a versatile choice for production teams, fabricators, and hobbyists who demand reliable performance from a single, well-built tool.
